AussieMate™ audible flashcard reader
The screen-time problem

You shouldn't have to choose between
learning and a tablet.

The problem

Little ones are glued to tablets and YouTube. You feel guilty every time you hand one over. And those "educational" apps? Still just more screen time in disguise.

Why the cheap ones fail

Those $20 overseas readers use a thick American accent — confusing for an Aussie kid learning to talk. And the cards fall apart in a week.

The AussieMate™ way

Real words. A real Aussie voice. Real results. Screen-free, hands-on, and properly engaging — the kind of learning that actually sticks.

How it works

Three simple steps. That's it.

No setup, no app, no Wi-Fi. Charge it once and let them play.

1

Slide the card in

Pop any waterproof flashcard into the slot at the top of the AussieMate™ reader.

2

Hear it in Aussie

A clear, friendly Australian voice reads the word out loud — just the way you would at home.

3

They repeat, learn, grow

Little ones say the word back. One card at a time, vocabulary builds naturally.

Built for little Aussies

Everything you want.
Nothing you don't.

Designed on the Gold Coast since 2013. Built to survive sticky fingers, bath time, and the back of the pram.

Toddler playing with AussieMate flashcards
Built for real homes

The screen-free moment you've been hoping for.

Little hands. Big imaginations. A device tough enough for the rug, the high chair, and the back seat of the car — and a voice that sounds like home.

She's speaking at a 4-year-old level Honestly didn't expect much, but our girl is only just 2 and the way she's talking now is unreal. She asks for "the Mate" every morning.

My twins are absolutely obsessed Cards are super durable — my twins love pressing repeat and shouting the words back. We've already ordered an expansion pack.

So much better than the Temu one Bought the cheap Temu version first — terrible American accent. AussieMate is completely different. You can tell straight away.

Even my 30-year-old wants one Arrived in two days, lovely sturdy box, works exactly as advertised. My son asked for one for his birthday. Half joking. Maybe.

Questions, answered

The bits parents always ask us.

Is it appropriate for my 18-month-old?

Absolutely. AussieMate™ is designed from 18 months and up. Card insertion is simple, the audio is instant, and there are no fiddly buttons — perfect for tiny hands just learning to explore.

What if my child already knows some of the words?

That's where the magic of expansion packs comes in. Unlock up to 510 words across new themes — animals, jobs, emotions, colours, food and more — so AussieMate™ keeps growing with your little one all the way to age 5.

How is this different from the cheap ones I've seen online?

Three big things: a genuine Australian accent, premium waterproof card quality that survives real toddler use, and a real Aussie support team you can actually reach. We've been doing this on the Gold Coast since 2013.

What if it breaks or we just don't like it?

You're completely covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee. Send it back for a full refund — no questions, no awkward emails. We're only happy if you are.

Does it need batteries?

Nope — and that's a big deal. AussieMate™ is USB rechargeable and the cable is included in the box. No nasty button batteries to swallow, no trips to the shops for replacements.

Customer Reviews

Overall rating: 4.7 / 5 from 1184 reviews.

Stop advertising them as tough, tear proof cards. They are cheap, flimsy paper cards that I definitely can not give to my ASD toddler who will tear them up and eat them. There is actually no point in having the aussie mate if I have to keep the cards out of my child's reach and only allow them to be played with when I am able to be there watching and policing the activity. I would have been better off purchasing cheap cardboard sight words and use my own aussie voice to speak the word/make the sounds. A business called sensory toys should know better than to sell something that toddler and sensory seeking children will chew and destroy. The disappointment I feel opening my order after such excitement finding this product is immeasurable. It's been a complete waste of money and I bought it as one of my toddlers main birthday presents so am now up for finding and purchasing something worthy before the end of this month. I am not happy.

Customer video review of AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

I’m really impressed with this audible flashcard learning device! It’s simple to use, engaging, and makes learning feel like a fun activity rather than a lesson. The clear audio and colourful cards are great for helping my little one recognise words, objects and sounds while building her vocabulary. The ABC song that plays is also a really nice touch. I would definitely recommend it to parents looking for an easy and interactive way to support their child’s early learning.

absolutely brilliant! we got this for my almost 3 year old niece and she loves it. she has learnt so many new words in such a short time. the only negative is that you cant buy the expansion pack separately so you need to order another reader too. however the positive is that we have a spare for the car or baby bag etc.. highly recommend.

AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

The concept is great. The cards however are very flimsy. My 2 1/2 year old grandson tore a card as he tried pulling it out of device within the first minute he tried it. A few times he’s grabbed a bundle of cards and quickly was able to crumble them with one hand. One more thing, the word ‘zebra’ is pronounced in American English. Considering the flimsiness of the cards this device was too expensive.

AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

Great product, my daughter is learning new words and the Australian accent is a huge plus. Disappointed with the false advertising though, the cards are flimsy and aren’t durable at all. Still a great product, just no need to say it’s something when it’s not

AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

My 2year old has no kids around her age, and we adults have been “filling in the blanks” when she asks for things. Her word count has improved, she comprehends the words mean objects she points to and she is now talking in 3-4 word sentences. Extremely happy with the purchase.

AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

Really great product! Only concern it the cards are not laminated which will lead to bending but over all it’s a really good product! Got the extension pack so as they grow you can change the words as often as needed at their pace !

AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

Really disappointed. My kid loved the $2 temu one but i didnt like how the words weren't correct English as well as the abc songs was totally incorrect. So purchased this one for $50. Yes the words are English spoken but the abc songs is incorrect just like the cheap versions. Why advertise as these are the proper ones when they obviously come out of the same factory with a massive mark up.

AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

The AussieMate is such a lovely product. My child really enjoys listening to the different sounds and is trying to familiarise himself with them. I hope this will encourage his communication skills and that he will start talking soon.

Customer photo review of AussieMate™ - Australian Accent Audible Flashcard Device

My 2 1/2 year old toddler likes it but he wants more of them to have sounds. He loves the police car and truck etc. So many of them don't have sounds that it's a pity. I know dress and shirt etc can't have a sound but Sea (waves) and beach could. It'd be great to have more instruments too. He loves the drums and guitar and piano. It's great the voice is an Australian. It'd be much improved if the font was the one taught in Australian schools too. Eg. The an and the g are very different from the ones we use.
